Speedy Beers is now offering professional coaching for small groups, specifically tailored to each musicians' abilities and interests. Speedy will coach Rock groups, Jazz Combos, Fiddle Bands, and Classical String Ensembles.

Novice to advanced players welcome!

Placements are available for musicians who play guitar, violin, mandolin, bass, viola, cello, sax, trumpet, flute, keyboard and drums. Groups are conducted in a large private, professional studio.

Speedy invites novice through advanced players to contact him for audition and placement.

Rhythm Guitar	Basic chords in the key of C, D, E, F, G and A. Bar chords: Major, Minor, and Seventh. Power chord fingerings.
Lead Guitar	Same as Rhythm Guitar above, plus: Pentatonic scales fingering #1 and #2.
Bass Guitar	Triads in the keys of C, D, E, F, G and A.
Keyboards	Triads and 7th chords in the keys of C, D, E, F, G and A. Must know how to read music. Major and minor pentatonic scales in the keys of C, D, E, F, G and A.
Drums	Know how to play basic rock-n-roll beats.

Fiddle, Mandolin, Viola, Cello	Scales in the keys of C, G, D, and A. Have basic note reading skills through Suzuki Volume one. To improvise you will need to know your Pentatonic scales in the above keys.
Guitar	Chords in the keys of C, G, D, and A. To improvise you will need to know your Pentatonic scales in the above keys.
Bass Guitar	Triads in the keys of C, D, G and A.
Keyboards	Basic chords in the keys of C, G, D, and A. Must know how to read music. Major and minor pentatonic scales in the keys of C, G, D, and A.
Drums	Have some drum set facility.

All Instruments (except drums)	Prerequisite: Speedy's 12-week course in Jazz Theory You should know the major scales on your instrument. Scales that will be studied and used: Major Major Pentatonic Minor Pentatonic Blues Major seven Dominant seven Dorian minor Diminished Whole tone See the page on Diatonic Scale Degrees for Improvising on Chords for more information on these scales.
Additionally...
Guitar	Diatonic jazz chords in all five positions.
Bass	Three and four note arpeggios in diatonic order for all five positions.
Keyboards	Diatonic jazz chords in all keys.
Drums	Play swing, latin, jazz waltz.

Beginning	Reading skill through book one Suzuki or equivalent
Intermediate	Reading skill through book three Suzuki or equivalent
Advanced	Reading skill through book four Suzuki or equivalent

Monthly payments for performance groups are due in advance. You will pay $60 per month at the rate of $15 per hour session. Speedy's students pay a discount rate of $40 per month at the rate of $10 per hour session. This is a monthly fee. No payment will be accepted for a single session.
