Speedy Beers has been teaching for over forty years. He has taught many professional players and teachers. He has been playing professionally in theatre, jazz, and classical groups for the past forty years. His quick start method gets beginning students playing music right away. Speedy Beers studied classical violin from Don Samuelson, professor at the University of Washington during his Junior High and High School years. He studied violin from Larmar Barus at Ricks College. He studied violin from Paval Farkus, University of Redlands and from Leslie Stringer, Redlands Symphony. Speedy studied classical guitar from Seko Sesoko, Brazilian guitarist and Jazz guitar from studio recording musicians Howard Roberts, Joe Pass, and Horace Hatchett. Speedy has played violin in the Bellingham Junior High School Orchestra, the Bellingham High School Orchestra, the Ricks College Orchestra, the Redlands College Orchestra, the Riverside Symphony, the Palomar Symphony in San Diego, and the North Coast Symphony in San Diego. Speedy has played guitar with the Woody James Big Band, and played classical and electric guitar with the group "Sound Investment". Speedy's theater performance experience includes playing violin for such shows as Annie, Hello Dolly, Chess, Cinderella and more. He also played guitar in theater performanes of South Pacific and Man of La Mancha. Speedy Beers' Music Studio is a highly professional studio designed for private instruction. The studio is equipped with an 8-track digitial recording system with state of the art peripheral equipment including a CD burner for making professional sounding recordings. He has a copy machine in his studio and a separate office for his business phone and fax machine. The Speedy Beers Music Studio is the most professional studio in North County San Diego. Speedy teaches all styles of music on the violin, including Classical, Fiddle, Jazz, Country, Irish, Scottish, Celtic, and Klezmer music. He has a strong background in music theory and composition. He teaches songwriting and arranging for all instruments. Speedy has a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the Redlands University. He has written two books for the violin; one entitled "A Study of Scales for the Violin, and another entitled "A Study of Mode Scales, Arpeggios, and Melodic Patterns, Learn to Improvise on the Violin". |
